Summary:
Role: Finance Officer
Location: Lagos
Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦300,000
We’re looking for a Finance officer to support financial operations in a dynamic fast-growing lifestyle events and fashion company based in Lagos. The role includes but is not limited to event and operational budgeting, cashflow and working capital management, inventory management and revenue reconciliation, tax and financial reporting, and external partner management.
Ideal for someone with 2–4 years of experience in the event management or creative industry, strong Excel skills, sound financial reporting skills and solid knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
Must-haves:
1. BSc in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
2. Strong financial reporting & reconciliation skills
3. Experience working in events management and fashion or other creative industry
3. Excellent attention to detail
4. ICAN certification preferred
What You’ll Do:
1. Prepare cash spend budgets ahead of events, and reconcile budgeted vs actual revenue and expenses post-event for management decision making.
2. Perform revenue reconciliation among bank deposits, e-commerce platform sales, internal records, and payment processor reports.
3. Identify and resolve any discrepancies in revenue and expense records
4. Manage cash reserves and short-term investments to ensure liquidity
5. Manage merchandise inventory tracking and stock levels
6. Generate monthly financial reports including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cashflow statements for management/CEO.
7. Monitor tax and other statutory payments to ensure compliance and filing accuracy.
8. Track and analyze financial KPIs to assess profitability and cash flow trends.
9. Manage relationships with banks, payment service providers, and financial institutions to resolve disputes and errors.
10. Review existing financial policies and update as necessary.
